The following chart describes how points are awarded to VITA
members at Maui Raceway Park drag race events.
The chart is based on the NHRA Points system as published in the NHRA Rule Book.
Points are awarded to drivers, not cars.

Any racer that has at least attempted one qualifying run will be awarded 10
points.
If a car were to win a round, but break in the process; that
driver would be awarded.
next round loser points. For example: car wins first round,
but blows up motor.
The driver would lose second round and therefore would be
awarded 40 points.
2 Car situation: best two out of three, award 60 & 80 points to r/up & winner. However,
if those two cars only make one run, scoring will be 40 & 60 points for r/up & winner.
1 Car situation: award 40 points if car makes one run during eliminations.
